Despite the coronavirus and challenging economic outlook, some occupations have actually increased in demand.
As you might expect these include a lot of medical and health workers, but also teachers and many job categories in the construction industry.
Australiaâs care sector is currently facing the largest demand for professionals. It has a workforce of over 1.5 million but â as the Australian Healthcare and Hospitals Association estimates â the country could be seeing a shortage of at least 100,000 nurses and 2,700 doctors by 2025. The need for both front liners and support staff will only continue to grow.
âThe sector covers all stages of life, from childcare to aged care, and incorporates a range of roles, such as medical technicians, receptionists, social workers, commercial cleaners, or psychologists,â LinkedIn said.
Occupations with Decreased Demand in 2021
Naturally, with the current recession and highest unemployment in a generation, many job categories have seen reduced demand for 2021.
